Volunteer Event: We Don’t Waste’s North Middle School Mobile Food Market

Those who haven’t volunteered with We Don’t Waste before will be prompted to create a profile on our volunteer platform called Volunteer Matters. This process takes about 5 minutes and will allow each person to sign their waivers and sign up for the shift.
Come join Women in Sustainability for a fun day of volunteering, helping We Don’t Waste, in the greater Denver area, recover food for homeless shelters and those in need! Our capacity for this event will only be 8 people, so if you cannot make this event, please do not RSVP. Otherwise, RSVP early if you can definitely make it, as spots will fill up quickly! We will be helping with the organization’s North Middle School Mobile Food Market on Saturday, April 22 from 12:15pm – 4:00pm.
This is a no-cost grocery market offered to the public. This market is outdoors and operated using a drive-thru model. We will help fill families’ cars with bags of produce, dairy, and non-perishables, as well as direct traffic and help everything run smoothly.
This is an excellent opportunity to meet some people and support a good cause! The shift will be outside. All COVID protocols in place at the time of the event will apply. An email will be sent to you prior to the event with more information.
In addition, you will be sent an email with a link to register through We Don’t Waste and sign the volunteer waiver. All volunteers are required to complete this registration form. Please note, all participants must be over the age of 15.
Additional information:
Parking: We will be setting up the market in the parking lot so please park in the street around the school. Street parking is widely available.
Attire: Please wear comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes. Also please check the weather before the event and dress accordingly. We will be outdoors for the duration of the event!
