About We Don’t Waste
We Don’t Waste was founded in 2009 to address the issues of food waste and food insecurity. They are one of the largest food recovery organization’s in Colorado, having recovered approximately 30 million meals since they’ve started.
They focus on perishable items including fresh produce, lean proteins, and dairy products. They supplement food provided by food assistance programs with fresh food reclaimed by their food donors. This allows the organization to continuously feed the hungry with healthy and wholesome meals, without the increasing their operating costs.
We Don’t Waste constantly has volunteer opportunities, where volunteers work in drive thru’s to get meals to those in need. They are always looking for volunteers to help them distribute meals!
