Upslope Release Party & Sustainable Beer Panel Conversation
September 8 @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm MDTFree – $5.00
WIS partnered with Upslope Brewing Company for their “Pints for the People” program! At the end of July, our team members brewed a Cantaloupe and Basil Saison small batch beer. Now it’s time to tap the keg and taste the beer!
Join WIS and Upslope on September 8 from 5:30pm – 9:00pm to try our beer and network at the Flatiron Park Tap Room. We’ll be celebrating our release, giving away prizes and talking sustainable beer throughout the evening!
As part of our release party, we’ll host a short panel conversation, “From Soil to Tap: How Sustainable Beer is Good for the Planet and You!” with Matt Cutter (Owner, Upslope Brewing Company), Todd Olander (Owner, Root Shoot Malting) and additional panelist TBD. This conversation will be held in the private event space from 6:30pm – 7:30pm.
After a long day at work or on a weekend hiking with friends, it’s fun to sit back, relax and drink a nice cold beer. However, have you ever thought about the impact that beer has on the planet? Luckily for us, many breweries, including Upslope Brewing Company, are thinking for us! This conversation will discuss the importance of sustainable beer production through the supply chain including the grains used, flavoring components, the brewing process to the final output. Why is this important? Just like eating food, it’s important to know what goes into your beer to help you keep healthy and happy (within moderation of course)! By the end of this conversation, you’ll feel good drinking sustainable beer that’s good for you and can help save the planet! Cheers to that!
Let’s kick back together, end the season with a delicious summery beer, network and learn why it matters to support sustainable breweries! Oh and did we mention there will be prizes?!
- 1 year membership to Women in Sustainability ($150 value)
- 2 tickets to “Global Cuisine and Local Roots: A Farm-to-Table Experience with a Global Twist” on September 11 at 5:30pm ($300 value)

About our Partner:
Upslope Brewing Company is a brewery company in Boulder, Colorado founded in 2008 by Matt Cutter and Dany Pages. Shortly afterward, Henry Wood joined the team. The company operates two breweries, both in Boulder, and produces several types of beer. Upslope is now a Certified B Corp! They are proud to join the ranks of the 2,500+ companies around the world who are embracing the idea that business can and should be used as a force for good. They believe in a world where everyone has access to clean water, air and healthy food within a stable climate and community. They recognize that our industry, and company within it, is resource intensive and has a net negative impact on our environment. They don’t want to live in a world without beer, but neither do they want to live in a world where beer is brewed at the expense of our environment. So they’ve joined this community of innovative business leaders to learn how to mitigate our negative impact through the development and adoption of more sustainable business practices and technologies. They certainly have a long way to go, but they hope that by joining the conversation and inviting open dialogue, they can make progress toward this goal. “Pints for the People” is a quarterly program to promote and partner with organizations that drive equal access to and inclusion in the outdoor and craft beer industries for historically excluded groups.
