Fundraiser Event: Global Cuisine & Local Roots Dinner: A Farm-to-Table Experience with a Global Twist

In 2020, we were in the process of launching our Farm to Table dinner when the world shut down. Over the past 2 years, we have hosted a fall dinner either virtually or as a small group at a nose-to-tail restaurant. We are excited to bring our idea alive this year with our  “Global Cuisine & Local Roots Dinner: A Farm-to-Table Experience with a Global Twist on Sunday, September 11 at Sumac Hill Farm!

This fall, you can travel the globe without ever leaving Colorado with Women in Sustainability’s unique farm-to-table dinner that features a global twist! Our plated meal will feature fresh, locally harvested farm food with a vibrant global menu. We’ll take you on a trip through Thailand, France, Mexico and more. We’ll end the evening with a local dessert that will bring us back to connecting our local roots with our global experiences. The meal will take us on a journey with stories throughout the evening from participants about their heritage and their cultural connection to the environment. What we do locally, impacts everyone globally and we’ll discover those connections together through this 4-course vegetarian meal on a beautiful farm setting in Centennial CO. You’ll not only leave with a full belly but will full hearts and a pearl of global wisdom too!

MENU:

Passed Appetizers (from Serendipidity’s Urban Garden):

  • Sheep’s Milk Ricotta, Pickled Apple, Raw Honey, Pumpernickel, Pine Nuts, Cracked Pepper
  • Roast Corn Chowder, Smoked Oyster Mushrooms, Gougere Bowl, Basil Gremolata

Plated Meal includes:

  • Red Oak Leaves & Haystack Mountain Goat Cheese
  • Gold Beets, Watermelon Radish, Sunflower Seed Pesto Vinaigrette
  • Lemongrass & Green Curry Soup
  • Kabocha Squash, Maitake Mushrooms, Thai Basil, Togarashi Scented Oil
  • Sweet Corn Masa Gateau
  • Cauliflower & Pea Succotash, King Trumpets, Heirloom Carrots, Red Mole

  • Colorado Peaches & Local Cream
  • Raw Honeycomb, Lavender Shortbread, Cocoa Crumble
